2013
DAYS 1-2: BANGKOK
On arrival in Bangkok, transfer to your hotel and then meet your tour leader and group for welcome drinks. Walk amongst the vivacious streets of bustling Bangkok and float along the Chao Phraya River on a lovely longtail boat to discover the sparkling Grand Palace, explore enticing Chinatown on an exciting tuk-tuk ride and wander down Sampeng Lane, once infamous for its seedy collection of opium dens and brothels. Enjoy some free time to get amongst some of Asia’s best shopping and taste some of the world’s best Thai cuisine.

DAYS 3-4: RIVER KWAI & KANCHANABURI
Leave the clamour of Bangkok behind and head to the beautiful River Kwai region, stopping at the fascinating Thai-Burma Museum on the way. Embark on a tranquil boat journey to your serene riverside resort surrounded by towering mountains and verdant jungle. Reflect on the rich and turbulent history of the region, as you head to Hellfire Pass and the Bridge over the River Kwai.

DAYS 5-7: CHIANG MAI
Return to Bangkok for your flight to Chiang Mai, ancient capital of the Lanna Kingdom. From the hilltop Doi Suthep temple admire the stunning views before learning more about Buddhism when you meet a resident monk. A walking tour of the Old City reveals the culture, both old and new, before a trip to an elephant conservation park to meet these magnificent creatures, a highlight of any trip. A final taste of Thailand awaits when you join an interactive cooking course, and then share your creations with your group for a farewell meal. On your last day, enjoy free time until your departure transfer.
