This enchanting trail will unveil the south’s rich history and culture from the colourful spice trading streets of Cochin (Kochi) to the lush jungles of Periyar National park, the great Dravidian temples of Madurai and Tanjore, to an iconic ashram in charmingly French Pondicherry, and the artisans seaside village of Mahabalipuram.

1.  Visit the lush spice gardens of the Kerala hills, where pepper, cardamom, ginger and cloves grow.
2.  Experience the evening atmosphere of the ancient Sri Meenakshi Temple in Madurai, where ancient Hindu worship and art are a daily feature.
3.  Soak up the French flavours of seaside Pondy (Pondicherry), wandering amongst cafes, galleries and churches and pretty French architecture.
