2012 - Your Journey starts Beijing, ends Shanghai

DAYS 1-4 - BEIJING & OVERNIGHT TRAIN
The enormous expanse of Tiananmen Square is awe-inspiring as you cross it by foot, before an exploration through the fabled Forbidden City. A thrilling rickshaw ride races through Beijing’s hutongs, the city’s traditional backstreets, before an enticing lunch in a local home immerses you in the culture. Hear the beating of the massive drums at the city’s famous Drum Tower and see an exhilarating Kung Fu show. In Mutianyu, enjoy a picnic lunch perched atop the iconic Great Wall. Join the locals and fly a kite at the Temple of Heaven and see the Giant Pandas at the zoo before your comfortable train races through the night to Xian.

DAY 5 - XIAN
Wander the vibrant streets of the thriving Muslim Quarter then visit the Big Goose Pagoda. To see the famous Army of Terracotta Warriors in person is a once in a lifetime experience. Marvel at the countless life-sized statues, each intricately carved. In your free time, you might cycle along the old city walls and feast on a lavish dumpling banquet.

DAYS 6-7 - GUILIN & YANGSHUO
Fly to lovely Guilin and board a leisurely cruise along the Li River past stunning limestone karst scenery to charming Yangshuo. Venture through the cobbled streets and then reveal your inner artist with a Chinese painting lesson.

DAYS 8-10 - SHANGHAI
Cycle into the pretty countryside, before a short flight to Shanghai brings you to one of the world’s most fascinating cities. Uncover the Art Deco architecture of the Bund, see fantastic views of the city from atop the futuristic Oriental Pearl Tower and learn about the Shanghai of old at the compelling Shanghai History Museum. Become a ‘Karate Kid’ in a fun Kung Fu class and witness the unbelievable feats of the Shanghai acrobats. On your last day enjoy free time before your departure transfer. Those departing from Pudong Airport may have the option of taking the fabulous Maglev train which travels at up to 431 km per hour.
